Leaps by Bayer - Leap Forward
Last year, our producer and director Johannes Olszewski was sent on a special time travel mission. What sounds like science fiction turned out to be a top-notch commercial film production at the end of the world. Samoa - an archipelago made up of nine islands in the middle of the South Pacific paradise.
Due to our production experience in the South Pacific and Melanesia region for LavaLine as well as our experience with exotic productions in remote areas, Johannes did not have to think about wether or not to join.
He teamed up with Signature Studios (Camila Pendola) and the production company Iconoclast Germany as well as the Berlin-based creative agency TLGG. The duo helped to execute a special mission - a high-end commercial for Leaps by Bayer as well as a longer doc format that was realised together with BBC StoryWorks.
The third chapter lines up in the successful and award winning series of commercials that features outdoor sports such as freediving feat. Sofia Gómez Uribe and skateboarding feat. Ali Boulala and Aaron Jaws.
This time slacklining changed towards a dynamic and adventurous water sport - literally on the other site of the world, kite-surfing history was made. The professional female kite-surf athlete Oliver Jankins crossed the international date line between Samoa and American Samoa that separates today from tomorrow. Located 19 sea miles offshore, Oliver jumped across the date line and time traveled into the future.
From scratch, Camila & Johannes brought the right people together, briefed the production companies during the pitch and advised the agency in every logistic, weather, athlete, kite-surf and location related topic. Finally, on location in Samoa and American Samoa, they helped (as mission producers) to turn the idea into reality. Johannes also worked as camera operator for the BBC StoryWorks DOC "Crossing The Line":
